Post-master research in typography
2023–2025
Based in Nancy, France, I join ANRT as a post-master researcher, collaborating with SEI UC Berkeley and IDG Hochschule Mainz. My study focuses on the typographic representation of Southern Sumatran scripts (Lampung, Ulu, & Kerinci) not yet encoded in the Unicode.

Led by Gerry Leonidas, MATD is one of the most reputable programme offering extensive practical and theoretical tutoring in typeface design. I explored multiscript typography for the final project (Latin, Arabic, & Balinese) and graduated with distinction.

Focusing on linguistics, I developed my understanding of the intersection between languages, scripts, and cultures during my undergraduate. My final paper about fonts in sociolinguistics perspective was presented at APRISH 2017.

I did fieldwork research regarding Southern Sumatran scripts (Lampung & Ulu) and reported to SEI to advance the progress of Unicode adoption of those scripts.

Self-employed
2022–present
Marsnev & Co. is my own independent type foundry registered in Delaware. I release original fonts and work closely with experts in type design, font technology, and multiscript typography. Besides, I freelance type design work for high-profile designers/foundries, developing and expanding their font families.

The typeface is used to typeset this CV page. Meaning “clearly visible” in Indonesian, Nyata Next is a contemporary sans serif typeface that explores typographical clarity.
A friendly multiscript typeface with horizontal contrast. Supporting 3 scripts—Latin, Arabic, and Balinese—in 9 weights, the family embraces diversity of scripts and writing systems while at the same time unites them as a family.
